This service was an essential tool for the civil contractors working close to a critical infrastructure asset. This enabled the construction of the residential estate to proceed without risking damage to buildings and reputation.
Peregian Springs is a suburb in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia and home to a large-scale housing estate of the same name which is being developed by FKP Property Group. Peregian Springs has a population of around 12,000 residents.
Monitum, our future of work research company, designed, installed and maintained a real time monitoring system. It included automated robotic total station observations with vibration sensor data to routinely monitor construction disturbance and impact to the nearby Peregian Springs Water Reservoir Tank. The system operated continuously in stages for over 2 years with continuous vibration monitoring during work hours, and daily deformation and displacement reporting and alerting via the cloud.
Using robotic consistency and accuracy, we were able to mitigate the risk of damage to the asset owner during construction. Our solution enabled the civil contractor to reduce their insurance premiums and enhance their reputation as a responsible and innovative contractor to their client.
