Constructed for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the Queensland State Velodrome is an indoor cycling facility designed and built to International Standards. Breaking ground in 2014 the new Velodrome’s design provides a fully indoor environment with no internal columns to obstruct views for the spectators.
Given the complex design, our client needed a surveying consultant that could provide proactive solutions to their most demanding construction challenges. We were appointed early in the project consultation phase, enabling us to work with our client and other key stakeholders to determine the specific challenges and how best to approach them.
Our experienced surveyors worked in the both traditional construction and 3D constructible realms, completing Laser scans and BIM integration to meet these needs. We provided services through all stages of the project, from the rising of the structural steel roof sections to assisting the Internationally renowned track builders in construction of the wooden track surface.
We succeeded in being able to provide our client with both accurate construction surveying setout and management, as well as a proactive problem-solving approach to many of the construction and design challenges faced.
