QSEA 2013 TRI Building

Our innovation

The Translational Research Institute (TRI Building) & BioPharmaceuticals Australia (BPA) Biologics Plant of the Future constructed in Buranda, Brisbane was an intricate and complex project and presented numerous logistics that needed careful consideration and management from Land Solution Australia.

Recommendation of a smart solution

TRI Building’s Stair 5, an architectural feature of the building had limited access therefore Land Solution Australia undertook an innovative approach to using Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) technology to construct casting elements from adjoining floors and to ensure the preservation of the adjoining structural elements and more importantly, in support to proving this approach, Land Solution Australia used Robotic Total Station technology to monitor and position the structural elements. The technology was used for a period of twelve months providing the client with the security of knowledge in the preservation of the project. Furthermore, software mapping programs were used such as Autodesk Civil 3D, FARO Scene, Bentley Point Tools and Map Info. Traditional surveying software were combined with entry level GIS software to manage the workflow and surveying documentation throughout the project.

Premium service delivery

This innovative approach by Land Solution Australia in combining the latest advancements in technology and tailoring its use to their client’s needs and requirements allowed them to display their technical excellence and attentiveness to their client.
